From drunken, swaggering, Mediterranean Folk to a Lounge-Rock version of a Britney Spears song, the following selections are all stand out works of art. These artists are being recognized for their originality and specifically (but not only) for the songs listed here. Each tune has its own unique feel and style and all succeed in swaying the listener’s thoughts and emotions. For those who have never heard of these artists I strongly recommend giving them a shot, iCompositions.com is a big place and great music falls to the wayside everyday because of constant uploads. This is why I present to you, with great pleasure, a list of ten tunes that you might have missed over the last couple of months. Enjoy!!!

"Crete" by Donatus (Greek Folk)
This is quite possibly the only Greek Folk tune in the entire icomp database, but that is hardly what makes it so captivating. The lead keyboard (on a guitar setting) is gentle and swaggering whilst the bass and percussion charge forward with determination. This one is definitely true to its roots.
"Pour Sabine" by Bounty6971 (Avante-Garde)
Wonderfully crafted and a tad Avante-Garde, this French Folk tune is wild with the sound of accordions, guitar, keyboards, and wind instruments (and don’t forget the whistling) working together to pick you up off your feet. Also featuring vocals sung in French by Bounty himself.
"I Fell Asleep" by Leesa (Acoustic)
“I Fell Asleep” is a beautifully thought out Contemporary Folk tune. The vocals/lyrics are the star in this song. Featuring some of Leesa’s signature minimalist guitar strumming. One of the first songs I’ve ever downloaded from icomp. Its been in my ipod ever since! (and I listen to it almost every day)
"Baby One More Time" by Beware the Fish (Pop)
A Britney Spears song turned into an Indie/Jazz-Rock Anthem, what more is there to say besides: “Oh no he didn’t!” but yes he did, so enjoy it!
"Miraphust" by Enkibumbu (Zen)
Time to roll out the hemp floor mat and practice your “Ohms”. This one is filled with exotic software instruments, but it seems too organic and pleasing to be crafted with a computer. Enki did a wonderful job with this tune.
"20mg" by MyNameIsJealousy (Grundge)
Just 20 milligrams of this tune is all it takes to lower you heart rate, cause your eyes to tear, and make you wish you were never born. A powerful and beautifully depressing ballad much in the style of Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Stone Temple Pilots.
"The Song in The Heart of the World" by DWCramer (Folk)
A great American style folk tune with great vocals. All live instruments, this one provides the listener with much food for thought, be it from the intelligently strummed acoustic guitar or from the striking viola work.
"First Stake" by RustyRed (Hip-Hop/Rap)
The song “First Stake”, also entitled “Gouverne le Mental et Ment” upon download, is a blazing Hip-Hop/Rap tune with great drum and bass simplicity and a nice cash register “Cha-Ching” sample. The vocals are awesome! And did I mention they were in French? This tune is a personal favorite of mine and I had to share it with you all. Enjoy!
"Promenade in Galleria" by AnnaMaria (Avant-Garde)
An Avante Garde Jazz tune with a striking bass line and beautifully done ambient vocals.
"Girls From Avignon" by LarsHaggqvist (acoustic pop)
A great little Pop number. Vocals and acoustic guitar! Very catchy!!!
